We developed Skylite because...

We wanted to make a very light wheel for those who needed that when they were taking the wheels off the chair and wanted to lift the to the back seat of a car before driving. We made the small “ Microhub” to make it looking light and nice. And the hub also is lighter of course.

FAQ

What are the differences between Omobic lightweight wheels: Skylite, Daylite, Smartlite?

logo

All the Omobic rear wheels ending in “Lite” are the lightest wheels in the Omobic range. But they differ from each other in construction and application.

Omobic Skylite is one of the lightest wheels on the market. The weight of the raw wheel is only 960g. How did we manage to do it? We used a micro hub developed by Mogens (MBL founder) combined with an ultra-lightweight rim with a unique CNC milling method. But please be aware that the maximum load per wheel here is 40 kg. It fits best with the Gazelle tyre – weighing only 200g.

Omobic Daylite – the most popular lightweight wheel loved by wheelchair users and wheelchair manufacturers. Thin yet strong spokes, the special design of the DW4 rim and a lightweight hub make this component our best seller.

Omobic Smartlite – is just an economical, elegant version of a light rear wheel with a single-wall rim and the lightweight hub used also for Daylite.
