The Fibercore wheels are made of polyamide and are lighter than the Alucore wheels. The rims are moulded and you will therefore see slightly more rounded edges. Two widhts available: 1¼" (34 mm) and 1½" (38 mm). Fitted with non marking hard black rubber tyres or PU tyres. Both options provide very low rolling resistance and high comfort.

FAQ

How to clean my casters?

logo

Regular cleaning keeps your wheelchair rolling smoothly and extends the life of your bearings.

To clean your front wheels you have to:

1. Loosen the axle: Use your hex key (and flat wrench) to unscrew the axle bolt holding the caster wheel inside the fork.

2. Remove the wheel: Slide the axle out carefully and take the caster and any spacers out of the fork.

3. Clean all components: Wipe down the wheel, axle pin, and spacers. Remove tangled hair from around the bearing seals.

4. Reassemble and tighten: Place the wheel and spacers back into the fork, slide the axle through, and tighten the bolt securely.

To make the cleaning you will need a couple of tools. The detailed instruction with the list of tools and our tips and tricks you will find here.

Assembly tip:

Holding the wheel, spacers, and tools all at once can feel tricky on your first try. Rest the wheelchair fork on a stable surface or your lap to keep the parts aligned while sliding the axle back in.

How often should I clean my casters?

logo

Generally speaking, with normal front castors usage,  you should clean them on a monthly basis.

But, if you have pets, or long hair – it shoud be done more often, even once a week.

The most important is to observe the performance of the wheel and adjust the cleaning routine to your needs.

What are the differences between the Omobic front wheels: Tristar Alucore, Lotus Alucore, and Lotus Fibercore?

logo

All Omobic front wheels are fitted with non-marking tyres and provide very low rolling resistance. The differences between them relate to the rim material, design, and tyre options.

Tristar Alucore: Featuring a shiny, polished silver or black aluminium rim, this is a user favourite. It is engineered with a high-performing PU tyre that offers extremely low rolling resistance and high durability.

Lotus Alucore: With a flower-shaped aluminium rim and a choice of a PU or rubber tyre, it provides both comfort and a good-looking design.

Lotus Fibercore: Thanks to a rim made of plastic, this is the lightest front castor in the Omobic lineup. It is designed with a flower-like rim pattern and is available in two different widths.

What sizes are Lotus Fibercore wheels available in?
